Chlorine 101 - Instructions

Which chemicals should you use together? How often should you be adding them? See all chemical systems below to answer those questions!

1" or 3" Poolife Chlorine Tablets or Chlorine Sticks

#1 - Poolife Chlorine tablets should be in a chlorine floater or a chlorinator. You should avoid putting chlorine tablets in your skimmer. You should especially avoid tablets in the skimmer if you own a heater. You should be testing your chlorine level on a regular basis and adding chlorine tablets as needed.

#2 - Algicide. You should be adding an algicide weekly with a chlorine pool. You can use the Algaebomb 30 or the Algaebomb 60.

#3 - Shock. Pool shock should be added weekly. You can use a di-chlor, Cal Hypo, or a non-chlorine pool shock with Chlorine Tablets. Shock is added 1 bag per 10,000 gallons of water. Do not pre-dissolve the chlorine shock. If you have a large amount of swimmer or the pool is looking cloudy, you can double up on the pool shock.



3" Multipurpose Chlorine Tablets

#1 - Multipurpose Chlorine Tablets Have 3 different products in them: (1) Chlorine (2) Algicide (3)Clarifier.

#2 - Pool Plus The pool plus is added once a week to your pool water. Pool Plus from Poolife activates the chemicals in the Multipurpose 3" chlorine tablets.

#3 - Pool Shock With the Multipurpose 3" chlorine tablet by poolife, you can use dichlor, cal hypo, or non-chlorine oxy plus pool shock. Pool shock is added 1 bag per 10,000 gallons once a week.



Granular Dichlor Chlorine

#1 - Granular Dichlor Chlorine granules or also known as powdered chlorine, is added directly to your pool water. Granular Dichlor is added when your chlorine level reaches 2ppm or below.

#2 - Algicide. You should be adding an algicide weekly with a chlorine pool. You can use the Algaebomb 30 or the Algaebomb 60.

#3 - Shock. Pool shock should be added weekly. You can use a di-chlor, Cal Hypo, or a non-chlorine pool shock with Chlorine Tablets. Shock is added 1 bag per 10,000 gallons of water.
